Hurricane Florence has severely impacted our region, and New Hanover Regional Medical Center is poised to continue providing care for hospitalized and emergency patients as the region recovers from the storm.
For the safety of our community, patients and staff, we have closed Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw and the NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital in Wilmington. This closure includes the emergency departments at those sites. The emergency department at the 17th St. location in Wilmington remains open and NHRMC Emergency Department-North in Scotts Hill is now open as well.
NHRMC has concentrated its personnel to care for patients, including emergency patients, at its Trauma Center at New Hanover Regional Medical Center's 17th Street location in Wilmington.
Pender Memorial and NHRMC have helped bring Med-1, a mobile hospital and surgical center to Burgaw to serve emergency patients there.
NHRMC Urgent Care in Wallace is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday, September, September 23. NHRMC Urgent Care Military Cutoff is also open Sunday.
