If you have a high-risk pregnancy or symptoms that require extra attention, your doctor may recommend you stay with us before your baby is born. The Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital Antepartum Unit is designed to make you as comfortable as possible while we closely monitor you and your baby.
Specialized Care for Pregnancy Conditions
During your hospitalization, maternal-fetal medicine specialists and neonatologists will watch for signs of pre-term labor or distress so quick action can be taken to prevent complications. They’ll work with your OB/GYN on a plan of care. They and your dedicated nurses will keep you informed all along the way.
We treat women with the following types of conditions:
- Pre-term labor (contractions before 37 weeks)
- Bleeding and premature rupture of membranes
- High blood pressure
- Gestational diabetes
- Multiple babies
- Constant nausea and vomiting
Rest in the Comfort of Family-Friendly Surroundings
Being away from home during your pregnancy can be difficult for you and your family. Everyone is welcome in our family-friendly unit, which features:
- Private rooms
- Suite retreat, with games, television and patio
- Family kitchen, lounge and laundry facilities
- Massage, music and activities through our Healing Arts Network
