Therapy After Spine Surgery Where It Suits You Best
Therapy after spine surgery is an important part of your recovery. Your NHRMC care team members want to make sure you regain movement and function as quickly and safely as possible. We tailor a therapy plan that suits you at a location that best meets your needs, whether it’s in a rehabilitation facility after you’re discharged or at your home.
Rehabilitation Services Offered
Therapists from NHRMC Acute Care Rehabilitation Services start working with you after your spine surgery while you are still at the hospital. We help you begin to move safely and start an exercise program tailored to your needs.
You may have postsurgical therapy at NHRMC Rehabilitation Hospital if you have pain or mobility limitations that make going home right away difficult. This inpatient care is provided by a team led by a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician. You typically have three hours of physical and occupational therapy each day, along with rehabilitation nursing care and other support. The team’s focus is on helping you get back home as quickly and safely as possible.
After you are discharged, you may continue your rehabilitation at one of the NHRMC Rehabilitation Services outpatient locations.
