Map & Directions
As a Level II Trauma Center, NHRMC's emergency department is equipped to provide emergency care for critically injured patients. We have two resuscitation/trauma rooms where our teams save lives and perform emergency procedures. Other hospitals in the region often use AirLink VitaLink to transfer their most critical patients here for our expert care.
Recognized for Heart and Stroke Care
You can rest assured that your loved one will receive quality emergency care. Heart attack and stroke patients will be treated by our teams, which both received national awards for exceeding national standards for quality and efficiency. We are a certified Chest Pain Center and have been recognized for our success in treating congestive heart failure
Extensive Care in One Location
The main emergency department is located at the main NHRMC campus, with access to our extensive team of medical specialists. Pregnant mothers and sick or injured children can be efficiently admitted to the NHRMC Betty H. Cameron Women's and Children's Hospital.
Renovation and Expansion
We provide care for more than 88,000 patient visits a year at the ED on our main campus. In May 2015, we began an expansion project that doubles the number of patient areas. Our new entrance and reception area, inspired by your suggestions, are now open.
Some of the benefits of the upgrade are:
- Separate trauma entrance for EMS
- Patient Assistance Center to help patients find community resources once they leave the ED
- Glass doors and curtains for improved privacy in patient rooms
- More space in the reception area and more room for family members in patient rooms
- Upgraded pediatric areas
