Bipolar disorder is a condition that causes severe mood fluctuations from mania to depression, which can affect a person’s ability to perform daily tasks. Bipolar disorder can lead to trouble with relationships, job performance, and suicide if not managed.
Major or persistent depression interferes with daily life, making it difficult to summon the energy to do routine daily tasks. Some forms of depression include psychotic, postpartum and seasonal affective disorder.
This brain disorder causes patients to lose touch with reality, experience hallucinations and delusions or movement disorders, such as catatonia. Some patients seem emotionless and unmotivated. They often do not interact with others.
Severe anxiety disorders include generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder and social phobia. Symptoms include an irrational fear, often of everyday occurrences.
