Meet Our Team

Dr. Jeffrey J. Dehmer and Dr. Timothy M. Weiner are certified pediatric surgeons who care for children at NHRMC Betty H. Cameron Women's and Children's Hospital.

When your child needs surgery, you can trust their care to our pediatric surgery team.  We perform procedures on children from newborns through age 18. We treat conditions ranging from the simple to the complex, including:

    • Appendicitis
    • Hernia
    • Pyloric stenosis
    • Gallbladder disease
    • Chest wall deformities (pectus excavatum and carinatum)
    • Lung infections (empyema)
    • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
    • Inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease)
    • Intussusception
    • Meckel’s diverticulum

In addition, we treat a wide variety of congenital diseases of the chest and abdomen, some of which require immediate treatment after birth in the neonatal intensive care unit. Examples of neonatal surgical conditions include:

    • Tracheoesophageal fistula
    • Abdominal wall defects (gastroschisis and omphalocele)
    • Intestinal atresias
    • Imperforate anus
    • Necrotizing enterocolitis

Procedures are performed at New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital, which offers a pediatric unit and intensive care rooms designed with your child's comfort in mind.
