Biography

My name is Ji-sun Shin. My parents are Korean, I was born in Miami, FL, grew up in the Dominican Republic for eighteen years, attended the University of Georgia for undergrad, went to Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and now am here to complete my Family Medicine Residency. I've traveled to many places in pursuit of medicine, and feel that my journey and traveling will continue after residency. I want to be a well-rounded physician: have experience in any procedure I can learn, be comfortable in caring for children and OB patients, be versatile in outpatient and inpatient medicine, and humbly continue to be teachable. I am passionate about teaching the next generation and want to spend the rest of my career helping teach students/future residents. I also want to continue to serve the underserved/low-resources populations and help empower them.

I enjoy exploring new restaurants, theaters, hiking sites, gyms, and obstacle courses. I like puppies, kittens, buying fresh eggs from chickens raised by my friends, dancing, having Osteopathic Manipulation done on me, hugging babies and laughing. Side note: I try to have God be my number one priority in life.
