Biography

Hello! My name is Nick Knear-Bell and I was born in Louisville, KY.  I lived my whole life in Louisville, until now. After completing 4 years of undergrad in chemical engineering then working for 3 years in the field, I made the switch to medicine and eventually found my way to Wilmington! My wife and I (and our 4 food-centric cats) are thrilled to call Wilmington and Coastal Family Medicine our home. I am a jack of all trades, master of none, but my (and my wife's) most recent hobby has been weightlifting/powerlifting.

I’m grateful and ecstatic to be part of such an amazing academic institution at NHRMC. Even from my interview day I could almost palpate the sense of family between both the residents and the faculty. In addition to learning full-scope family medicine, the program is peppered with passions for teaching, mentoring, and cultivating a holistic approach to medicine. I’m truly blessed to train in such an open, friendly environment that is hell bound in helping me succeed. After residency I plan to pursue a fellowship in Sports Medicine if the tides are right. In the meantime, I’m going to enjoy the sun, sand, and surf as much as possible, knowing that the opportunities to become an excellent, well-rounded family physician are at my fingertips
