NHRMC Physician Group – Coastal Pulmonary Medicine is pleased to welcome Oluwole Odunusi, MD, to the practice. Coastal Pulmonary Medicine providers are highly skilled and experienced in diagnosing and treating diseases and conditions of the lungs and are also trained in sleep medicine and can evaluate patients with sleep-related disorders.
Dr. Odunusi earned a Bachelor of Science in Concentration Microbiology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in Memphis.
He completed his residency in internal medicine at Duke University Medical Center and completed the pulmonary and critical care fellowship program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He also completed a sleep medicine fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, along with training at the other Harvard Medical School training hospitals – Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital.
His interests include pulmonary disorders such as asthma, COPD, ILD, bronchiectasis, lung cancer diagnostics with super navigational bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS). His sleep interests include obstructive and central sleep apnea syndromes, obesity hypoventilation, narcolepsy, and insomnia.
Dr. Odunusi is board certified in internal medicine and has experience working as a hospitalist.
