New Hanover Regional Medical Center and the YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina are sponsoring the third series of Dancin’ in the Park, a free and fun 4-week outdoor fitness celebration in Wilmington.
This locally organized health initiative has a mission of promoting physical activity, healthy lifestyle choices, and community relationships within the Northside community of Wilmington. The public is invited to attend.
The events will occur at 9 a.m. every Saturday in October, weather permitting. All events will be held at Portia Hines Park, 400 N. 10th St., Wilmington. The Oct. 27 event includes a Halloween costume contest with prizes for all participants and a grand prize for the winner.
Dancin’ in the Park will feature fitness instructors showcasing styles like Zumba, line dancing, hip-hop, and more. The team of instructors teach for a variety of clubs across Wilmington and enjoy working with diverse ages and fitness levels. Their energy is contagious and will keep attendees smiling and moving at their own pace the entire time.
The celebration is open to all ages and fitness abilities and will include music, food and information on local resources.
