NHRMC Foundation Joins GivingTuesday
The New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. Occurring this year on Tuesday, December 2, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving Day (in the United States) and the widely recognized shopping events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The goal is to inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways for the causes they support.
The NHRMC Foundation encourages those within the local community, or those who have been touched by New Hanover Regional Medical Center, to show their support and launch the season of giving by celebrating #GivingTuesday.
#GivingTuesday is a great day to give to NHRMC Foundation in honor or in memory of someone special or to an area of the hospital that has continued to improve the lives of individuals through patient care, health and wellness. Donors can support various areas and funds within NRHMC such as, Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital, NHRMC Heart Center, Pink Ribbon Project, SECU Family House, Zimmer Cancer Center and more. A gift, no matter the amount, makes a difference in the care and services that NHRMC offers. All donations are tax-deductible and continue to remain local.
#GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people all around the world to develop change in their local communities; by providing a platform for organizations to encourage the donation of time, resources and talents to address local challenges.
Created by 92nd Street Y – a cultural center in New York City that has been bringing people together around the values of service and giving back for almost 14 decades, #GivingTuesday connects diverse groups of individuals, communities and organizations around the world for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving. Now in its fourth year, #GivingTuesday has continued to shape, grow and strengthen the movement.
