September 23, 2020

Idonia Boddie, Patient Care Technician in Pre-Admission Testing, is retiring Thursday, September 24 after many years of faithful service at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She started on May 22, 1991 in dietary. She worked there for seven years prior to moving to the 3rd floor at NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital. A couple of years later, she transferred to ASU and PreAdmission Testing at OH.

During her time in Pre-Admission Testing, she became known as Princess Idonia. She even has a footstool engraved with her name to commemorate the big day.

In October 2018, she was a part of the marriage of all the PreAdmission Testing Departments into one location at the Medical Mall and became a beloved family member to everyone. Her teammates will miss her smile and humor. She is a thoughtful and compassionate co-worker and caregiver. Many patients often call back and report the excellent care they received. She made everyone feel safe in her care. She will be missed by many but especially her teammates at the Surgery Navigation Center and Dr. Barton.
