A message from John Gizdic, NHRMC President and CEO
The events of the past week have many of us, once again, questioning how we can get to a time and place in which all people feel supported, honored, and treated equally. We see and feel the anger and hurt of injustice and know that, as a society and as individuals, we have a lot of work to do.
Every change starts with small steps. We take them in each interaction and each opportunity to reach out and help another person feel loved and valued.
We have come through a tough few months as we faced the unknown threats of COVID-19. But through that time, we felt the outpouring of support from our community. It showed the power of helping people feel appreciated for who they are and what they do. We can build on that and pay forward the spirit of unity that uplifted us when we needed it most.
Today, we have what seem to be new challenges, but unfortunately, aren’t new at all. Those challenges call on us to reinforce our commitment to the members of our diverse and extraordinary team, to health equity, and to achieving excellence for all. We are one. And we are a model for inclusivity. Let’s show how compassion, understanding and respect for all can build a thriving community.
