The New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation will host the Pink Ribbon Project Luncheon on Thursday, March 12, 2020, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Wilmington Convention Center.
Proceeds from the event support NHRMC Foundation’s efforts to provide free mammograms and diagnostic services to underserved women in the area as well as comfort bags to newly diagnosed cancer patients.
This year’s event, presented by Bank of America, will feature Randy Aldridge, evening news anchor at WWAY TV, and Sheila Boles, inductee to the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame, who will both speak about their personal experiences with cancer.
Women attending the luncheon who are 40 or older and need to schedule a screening mammogram will be able to arrange an appointment with representatives from NHRMC Health & Diagnostics.
Tickets to the luncheon may be purchased online at www.nhrmcfoundation.org or by calling the NHRMC Foundation at 910.667.5002.
Since 1998, The Pink Ribbon Project has raised more than $3 million through the support of community partnerships, individual donations, and events. The organization has provided more than 7,750 comfort bags to local women undergoing treatment for cancer. The Pink Ribbon Project also funds mammography screenings for women in the region who do not have health insurance or financial resources, as well as follow-up diagnostic procedures for those who receive a suspect mammography result.
