Physician Quality Partners (PQP), an Accountable Care Organization (ACO), earned shared savings in the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP). PQP’s efforts improved quality for more than 18,000 MSSP beneficiaries and saved more than $5.3 million in Medicare spending in 2018. The ACO achieved a quality score of 95.12% and reduced cost of care by $282 per beneficiary, which resulted in a shared savings payment of $2,471,136 for NHRMC, our physician group, and Intracoastal Internal Medicine.
As an ACO, PQP works together with doctors and healthcare providers to increase collaboration and coordination of care. PQP is at the forefront of the value-based care movement and is dedicated to delivering quality healthcare throughout our community.
PQP’s Medicare Shared Savings Program performance far exceeded national average spending reductions of $180 per Medicare beneficiary for physician-led ACOs and only $27 per beneficiary for average hospital-led ACOs.
For a second year in a row, PQP also attained the exceptional performance bonus under the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), which awards providers the maximum available upward adjustment in their Medicare Part B payment for 2020 (1.68 percent).
