New Hanover Regional Medical Center was named among the "150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare" by Becker's Healthcare. The list highlights hospitals, health systems and healthcare companies that promote diversity within the workforce, employee engagement and professional growth.
According to Becker's, the organizations featured on the list offer benefits and opportunities for employees to build successful careers above and beyond the average healthcare provider or company; they encourage professional development and promote leadership from within. Many members of the list offer unique wellness and personal benefits to ensure employees strike a positive work/life balance.
With 7,000 employees, NHRMC continues to expand the services offered at its main campus and hospitals and medical facilities across southeastern North Carolina.
"We are proud to be recognized as a leader among healthcare systems across the country," said John Gizdic, NHRMC President and CEO. "We treat our employees well because we value them and want them to stay and grow with us. This helps us provide the excellent care our community deserves."
In addition to providing a competitive benefits package, NHRMC supports volunteerism and organizes community outreach activities under its mission of Leading Our Community to Outstanding Health. NHRMC also promotes a culture of fitness through its employee fitness center, community garden, nutritional cooking classes and other initiatives throughout the healthcare system. That culture extends to the community, where NHRMC sponsors local events and develops programs to reach community members with health screenings and opportunities to get nutritious food.
The recognition from Becker's follows NHRMC's recognition as one of "America's Best Large Employers" in both 2018 and 2019.
