Employee Resource Groups Kickoff Event

December 14, 2018
ERG launch

NHRMC took a big step forward on Thursday on an initiative to give employees the opportunity to better understand the challenges some groups face in achieving better health.

Our organization’s first four Employee Resource Groups were introduced during an event that invited staff to meet with group members and talk about their goals and how they can connect.

The groups include:

  • ONYX (African American/Black)
  • LEAD (Leadership, Education, and Awareness for Disabilities)
  • Todos Unidos - TU (Hispanic/Latinx)
  • S*T*A*R (LGBTQ+)

NHRMC is committed to creating an internal culture of inclusivity and cross-cultural communication. The ERG’s were formed to as part of the Health Equity strategic plan initiative. Members of each group often face challenges achieving better health due to social factors that include race, gender, national origin, or sexual orientation. As leaders in our community, NHRMC is embracing these groups in order to provide a forum to ensure that the entire community we care for receives the care it deserves.

These groups are open to anyone who wants to join them, whether you identify as a part of them, want to be an ally, or simply want to learn more and support your fellow employees. The support at the launch of the Employee Resource Groups was an amazing start to the journey our whole organization is on to lead everyone in our community to outstanding health.
