National Radiologic Technology Week

November 06, 2018

National Radiologic Technology Week® is celebrated annually to recognize the vital work of radiologic technologists (RTs) across the nation. The celebration takes place each November to commemorate the anniversary of the x-ray's discovery by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on Nov. 8,1895.

The week-long celebration calls attention to the valuable work of RTs in the health care field and the highly technical images that they make.  The images play an integral role in the medical process and in the lives of millions of patients.

NHRMC RTs provide excellent patient care throughout the NHRMC Network including New Hanover, Orthopedic, and Pender Hospitals, as well as at our Health & Diagnostics Centers located at the Medical Mall, Brunswick Forest, Military Cutoff, H&D North, Rocky Point and NHMG.  Our RTs perform diagnostic radiology services including CT and PET scans, mammography, ultrasound, diagnostic radiography, MRI, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology with consultation from Delaney Radiologists, the most extensive team of Board Certified Radiologists in the area.

Take a moment this week to thank an RT for a job well done!
