The NHRMC Health Equity Department is excited to announce the creation of its first Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).  Our four ERGs will be introduced during a kick-off event noon-2 p.m. on Thursday, December 13 in James Walker Conference Room.

The voluntary, employee-led groups, formed as part of the Health Equity strategic plan initiative, bring together employees who share common characteristics or life experiences. Group members share a passion for helping to meet the needs of underrepresented groups, including  those who may face challenges achieving better health due to social factors including race, gender, national origin or sexual orientation.

In addition, ERGs offer a chance for employees to network and get support from their peers.

NHRMC’s ERGs include:

  • African American Group
  • Hispanic/Latino Group - TU
  • Disabilities Group - LEAD
  • LGBTQ+ Group – S*T*A*R*

“The Employee Resource Groups bring value to the workplace, support our commitment to diversity and inclusion, and further our mission of improving health, elevating hope and advancing healing,” said NHRMC Director of Health Equity and Human Experience Joe Conway.

ERG members will be on hand at the kick-off event to answer questions, share their missions and sign up anyone who is interested in joining their group.
