New Hanover Regional Hospitalists welcomes Drs. Vargas, Bibb, Lintula and Hansberry

NHRMC Physician Group – New Hanover Regional Hospitalists is pleased to announce that Marcel M. Vargas, DO; Todd J. Bibb, DO; Udoaku E. Onyeador Lintula, MD; and Eric S. Hansberry, MD, have joined the practice. They will be caring for patients at New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s main campus on 17th Street as well as NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital on Wrightsville Avenue.

Dr. Vargas received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Union College in Schenectady, NY. He received his Master of Science Degree in Applied Anatomy and Physiology from Boston University. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Philadelphia College.

Previously, Dr. Vargas was the General Medical Officer at the Naval Health Clinic in Charleston, SC, where he provided comprehensive medical to active duty sailors. He completed his residency in family medicine at Naval Hospital Pensacola.

Dr. Bibb received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Biological Sciences from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg.

In 2014, Dr. Bibb worked at La Clinica De Veron in Veron, Dominican Republic, where he provided primary care, pediatrics and emergency medicine services. For the past three years, he has been completing his residency in Internal Medicine at Carilion Clinic - Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke, Va.

Dr. Hansberry received his Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Science with dual minors in Spanish and Chemistry. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Windsor University School of Medicine in Basseterre, Saint Kitts.

For the past three years, Dr. Hansberry has been part of NHRMC’s Internal Medicine Residency Program and was awarded Chief Resident of Quality Management in 2017. At NHRMC, he has been recognized for going above and beyond with patient care.

Dr. Lintula received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Studies and her Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Tufts University in Boston. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga.

Most recently, Dr. Lintula completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Colorado Denver and Health Sciences Center in Aurora, Co. At the University of Colorado, she is a member of the organization for racial and ethnic support. This organization promotes diversity and develops relationships among underrepresented physicians, residents and students.
