Amie Ellis, RN, was recently named manager of NHRMC ED-North. Amie had been serving as interim manager of ED North and will continue her duties as manager of the NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital Emergency Department.
After graduating from the East Carolina University College of Nursing, Amie spent the next five years working at emergency departments in both rural and urban settings and developing her emergency nursing skills.
Once hired at the NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital, Amie demonstrated her drive for advancement. She developed her leadership skills and advanced from staff nurse to coordinator. In her position as coordinator she was the recipient of the 2014 Nursing Excellence Award for the Orthopedic Hospital and was a NC Great 100 nursing nominee in 2015.
When a manager position opened in 2015 she accepted the position as manager of the NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital emergency department. As the NHRMC system has continued to grow Amie has been given the opportunity to manage both the Orthopedic Hospital and be the interim manager at Emergency Department North.
“Both departments have presented unique challenges and exciting opportunities,” Amie said. “And I am proud to be helping these teams provide excellent care to our community.”
