NHRMC Physician Group – New Hanover Medical Group is pleased to welcome Caroline D. Thompson, MD, to the Brunswick Forest office where she will practice family medicine. This practice offers primary care services for the entire family, including managing health, treating illnesses and injuries, and focusing on prevention and treatment of chronic conditions.
Dr. Thompson received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville.
Most recently, Dr. Thompson worked at Vidant Medical Center as a family medicine resident. Additionally, she has held teaching positions, and served as a mentor for medical students, offering advice and guidance to help them adjust to medical school. She also oversaw medical students seeing patients to help them learn skills such as taking patient histories and performing physical examinations.
Dr. Thompson is fluent in conversational Spanish. In addition to her passion for family medicine, Dr. Thompson has special interests in sports medicine, mental health and weight management. In her free time, she enjoys water skiing, kayaking and cooking.
