Through a partnership with NHRMC, Cape Fear Habitat for humanity is primed to break ground on a Habitat House on April 14. This is the eighth house Habitat is building with NHRMC, and this year’s homeowner will be Melissa Feaster, a Patient Care Technician on the Progressive Care Stroke Unit.
You can register to help with the project at the Cape Fear Habitat NHRMC page. No construction experience is needed; Habitat experts will teach you everything you need to know.
Many departments have designated team-building days, but there are open slots for anyone who wants to participate on the following dates:
- April 14: Groundbreaking
- April 28: Floor System
- May 5: Wall Raising
- May 12: Roof Sheathing
- May 19: Miscellaneous Framing
- June 2: Vinyl Siding
- June 9: Vinyl Siding
- July 7: Painting
Our Habitat House is a project of our Mission Corps, a team of NHRMC volunteers dedicated to making our community a better, healthier place to live. Check out the Mission Corps Yammer group for more information on other projects.
If you are interested in becoming a future Habitat homeowner, you are invited to attend one of two information sessions at NHRMC:
- 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2 in NHRMC Classroom D
- 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 8 in NHRMC Classroom C
