Carolinas HealthCare System is changing its name to Atrium Health. The change reflects the company’s growth into a more regional system that is expanding beyond the Carolinas.
NHRMC has operated on a Services Agreement with Carolinas since 2014. This collaboration has helped both entities, as they share best practices on clinical integration, new program development and quality improvement. The agreement has also helped with cost reduction through group purchasing.
Rebranding as Atrium is expected to take about two years to complete.
Atrium has been working to complete a partnership with UNC Health Care, and this announcement is unrelated to that deal, the Charlotte Observer reports.
