NHRMC Foundation Founders’ Gala Raises $200,000

January 29, 2017
WILMINGTON, NC – The New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation is pleased to announce that proceeds from its 17th Annual Founders’ Gala, presented by Coastal Children’s Services, raised more than $200,000 to support the installation of an interactive digital space to entertain and engage patients at the NHRMC Nunnelee Pediatric Specialty Clinics.

“We are extremely appreciative of all our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and committee members,” said NHRMC Foundation Vice President of Development and Executive Director Schorr Davis. “We are also grateful for the vision and leadership of our event chair, Cindy Dugan, and co-chair, Sloan Turner.”

The success of this event has allowed the NHRMC Foundation to make annual contributions to the NHRMC Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital that positively impact patient care and experience.

The interactive digital space gives young patients facing challenging health issues a fun experience while they are visiting the physicians and providers at the Nunnelee Pediatric Specialty Clinics. The play space encourages a positive state of mind and can help reduce stress for both children and parents. Interactive floors and walls allow children to engage with technology to create an environment that is both serene and happy, while using a child’s imagination, sense of wonder and encouraging physical movement.
