WILMINGTON, NC – New Hanover Regional Medical Center has been named to the 2016 100 SafeCare Hospitals list for outstanding healthcare quality by the SafeCare Group.
The list recognizes the nation’s top performing hospitals for 40 evidence-based metrics including HCAHPS, core measures, 30-day mortality rates, 30-day readmissions, complications rates in medical and surgical care, and medical and surgical infections. NHRMC was recognized in the category for hospitals with more than 400 beds.
“We are honored to be recognized for our quality and safety initiatives,” said Jack Barto, NHRMC president and CEO. “Our physicians and staff are dedicated to providing excellent and compassionate care that reaches the high standards our patients seek and deserve every day.”
The SafeCare Group ranks hospitals for their excellence in patient safety, quality and efficiency, and notes that if all U.S. hospitals attained the 100 SafeCare Hospitals® level, more than 400,000 patient deaths and millions of complications would have been prevented.
“New Hanover Regional Medical Center is recognized for excelling in the evidence-based metrics of value based care, low readmissions, and low complications of care,” says Yisrael Safeek, MD, MBA, founder and chairman of the SafeCare Group®.
