Food insecurity, medication & transportation assistance, and access to early detection screenings and education are some of the significant challenges that patients at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, now a part of Novant Health, face every day while navigating a cancer diagnosis.

NHRMC Foundation’s comprehensive cancer fundraising and awareness effort, Currents of Care, is dedicated to providing medical, financial and emotional support to oncology patients at NHRMC. Led by a passionate, dedicated group of community volunteers, Currents of Care raise funds to provide individual patient support and reduce barriers to care for those in our community with cancer so that they can focus on what’s most important: the path to healing & recovery.

Passionate about cancer and healthcare and want to make a difference in the lives of others? Join us at one of the upcoming committee info sessions to learn more about the Currents of Care volunteer committee and how you can partner with us to make an impact on the lives of oncology patients. A Coffee and Chat event will be held Dec. 4 at Social Coffee & Supply Co. located at 5317 Wrightsville Ave. in Wilmington, and a Cocktails and Conversation event will be held Dec. 8 at The Brewers Kettle located at 4718 Oleander Dr. in Wilmington.

These events are open to the public, but all planning to attend are asked to please RSVP here.
