Our Primary Care Services

Wrightsville Beach Family Medicine provides a full range of primary care services for every stage of life – from birth through older age. We often provide health care for every member of the family.

Exams & Consultations

Physical Exams

Physical exams include well-care checks and sports and school physicals. These regular check-ups are important to identifying issues and keeping you healthy.

We provide required immunizations for adults and children during regular well-care checkups. Or, you can call to schedule a separate immunization visit.

Women’s Health

We offer care for women as they change through life, from adolescence through menopause and beyond. We provide pre-conceptual counseling and contraceptive management and offer breast exams, Pap smears, and GYN care.

Men’s Health

We offer counseling for men as they face challenges unique to them, including erectile dysfunction and prostate issues. We perform prostate exams and can draw blood to check your PSA level. If needed, we will coordinate referrals to local specialists.

Children’s Health

As a family medical practice, we are trained to care for even the youngest patients and help them grow to be healthy and strong children and adults. We’ll provide immunizations and track growth and development.

Weight Control Counseling

Maintaining a healthy weight is a challenge for many. We’ll provide dietary and exercise counseling to help you find a way to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.

Chronic Condition Management

If you have arthritis, we’ll help you control pain and minimize further joint damage to maintain as much function as possible.

Asthma can be controlled, and we’ll help you do it. We offer spirometry testing and prescriptions customized to your specific needs.

Managing diabetes takes regular testing, dietary education, and prescriptions. We can help make this process easier for you through ongoing support and by giving you clear guidelines on how to recognize problems and prevent serious complications from developing.

High Blood Pressure & High Cholesterol

Watching your blood pressure and cholesterol levels is an important part of keeping you well. If those levels get too high, your risks for heart disease and stroke increase, with the potential for serious complications. We’ll monitor your condition, talk with you about lifestyle changes, and prescribe medications when needed.

Tests & Screenings

Heart & Vascular Diagnostic Tests

We can help evaluate how your heart and vascular system are functioning through testing done in our office including electrocardiogram (EKG) and blood flow screenings.

Lab Tests

Our lab services include blood tests, urinalysis, pregnancy testing, strep throat tests, and flu screening.

Pulmonary Function Tests

We can perform pulmonary function tests to determine how well you are able to breathe and how well your lungs are supplying oxygen to the rest of your body.

Skin Biopsy

We can take a sample of your skin or a suspicious mole in our office and perform testing to see if more follow up is needed.

Assessments & Treatments

Illness & Urgent Care Visits

When you’re sick or injured and it is not a medical emergency, call us and we’ll see if we can get you in the same day for an assessment or treatment.

Joint Injections

We’ll perform joint injections to help reduce inflammation and/or swelling of tissue surrounding a joint.

Minor Surgery

We can perform a number of minor surgical procedures in our office including stitching a wound, removing ingrown toenails, removing skin lesions, and using cryotherapy.

Osteopathic Manipulation

Osteopathic manipulation involves using hands to move your muscles and joints to stretch and apply gentle pressure. This technique can help with joint pain, migraines, and many other issues.

Sports Medicine

We can help diagnose and treat the types of injuries that can result from exercise and sports, and help you develop routines that can help prevent future injuries.
