Visitors

Your visit can make a difference.

When you visit someone in the hospital, you can make a big impact on their recovery. Our promise to deliver exceptional care extends from our patients to the family and friends who visit them. Our goal is to offer you an easy, comfortable visitor experience.

Some specialty units may have visiting hours different from the hospital’s standard visiting hours. Check with your care team to confirm when you can visit.

Visitor policies

The safety of our patients, their guests, and our team members is our priority. Bring your government-issued ID with you to the hospital, as it may be required to get a visitor badge.

Novant Health visitor policies can change — please call the hospital with any questions before your visit.

Locate or contact a patient

To locate or contact a patient, call the hospital. When visiting someone in the hospital, we ask that you please observe quiet hours by dimming lights and lowering voices and other sounds to help our patients have restful sleep.

Patients in critical care areas do not have a phone in their room; you may be connected to the waiting room to speak with family/friends who are present.

We cannot report on patient conditions over the phone. You may be transferred to a nurse for help.

Overnight stay

Overnight guests are allowed in some areas of the hospital. For your comfort, these rooms are supplied with a reclining chair or pullout couch, blankets and sheets.

Nearby hotels

Call the hospital to ask for hotel recommendations and if any hotels offer discounted rates for patients and their visitors.
