A Cancer Center Focused on You
NHRMC Zimmer Cancer Center, located on the main NHRMC campus, has been nationally designated as a teaching cancer program by the American College of Surgeon’s Commission on Cancer – a designation awarded to just 25 percent of hospitals in the country.
The NHRMC Zimmer Cancer Center is the only comprehensive center dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and support of cancer patients in southeastern North Carolina. The center also houses the hospital’s cancer clinical trials program, giving local residents a chance to participate in national treatment studies.
Renovation and Growth at Zimmer
Renovation and expansion of NHRMC Zimmer Cancer Center is underway and will last through fall 2017. The $14.5 million project will triple the number of infusion spaces and will give our community increased access to comfortable, convenient cancer care and support.
All services will remain available during construction, but you will see some changes beginning Friday, April 18.
- You will enter through a door to the left of the former entrance. It will be clearly marked "NHRMC Zimmer Cancer Center."
- You may be dropped off at the new driveway in front of this door. Drivers can park in the Zimmer lot directly in front of the entrance.
- Staff and volunteers will greet you and help you find your way. Signs will be clearly marked to identify lobbies and treatment areas. If you need any assistance, please ask anyone wearing an NHRMC badge. We will be happy to help you.
