We use the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS) to accept applications to our residency programs. Please submit your application through this service no later than January 1. Please see below for each program's specific application requirements and note all applicants will be informed of their interview status by January 15.

Requirements for application to NHRMC pharmacy residency programs:

  • Eligible for North Carolina licensure
  • Applicants  to the residency programs must be graduates or candidates for  graduation of ACPE accredited degree program (or in process of pursuing accreditation) or have a FPGEC certificate from the NABP.  NHRMC does not sponsor visas.
  • Pharmacy school transcripts
  • PGY2 specific: In good standing with current PGY1 program and anticipation of completion of all PGY1 residency requirements
  • 3 references provided bia PhORCAS using the standard reference form (at least 2 references should be able to speak to direct patient care abilities)
  • Letter of intent, please include the following information within your letter:
    • PGY1 Pharmacy applicants: please describe your experience(s) in rounding and non-rounding patient care environments and the maximum number of patients you were responsible for on a rotation
    • PGY1 Community-Based applicants: please describe your experience(s) in community pharmacy practice settings and your experience(s) in transitions of care
    • PGY2 Ambulatory Care applicants: please describe your experience(s) in teaching and your experience(s) in ambulatory care practice settings, highlighting the types patients you helped providing care
    • PGY2 Critical Care applicants: please describe your critical care experience(s) highlighting your clinical, research and teaching experience(s)
