Dr. Bhan received her M.D. degree from Odessa State Medical University, Ukraine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Dr. Bhan is board certified in Internal Medicine. Her special interests include medical education, general internal medicine, and geriatrics. She also has an interest in endocrinology and health care quality improvement.

Dr. Butler received his M.D. degree from the University of North Carolina, School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Dr. Butler is the Associate Program Director for the program and has overseen the Grand Rounds for several years. Dr. Butler is a dedicated internist who enjoys seeing patients and teaching residents and students.

Dr. Hanlon completed a dual residency in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at West Virginia University – Charleston Area Medical Center; where she then served as faculty, clerkship director and program director. She joined faculty at New Hanover as Program Director July 2012. Her interests include innovative educational methods in academic medicine and quality improvement. She works closely with the residents in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her 2 young children and is an avid runner.

Dr. Peltsverger received her M.D. degree from Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy in Russia. She is a graduate the National Institute for Health in Washington D.C. for Endocrinology. Dr. Peltsverger completed her Internal Medicine residency at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Dr. Peltsverger is the primary physician in the Zimmer Endocrinology Clinic seeing patients with Internal Medicine residents. Dr. Peltsverger sees endocrinology patients at the University Physicians office in Wilmington, NC as well. Dr. Peltsverger is a consult physician at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Mark E. Williams, MD, FACP

Geriatrician

Dr. Williams received his MD degree and Internal Medicine Residency from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Particularly interested in promoting the health and independence of elderly people, he has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles on various aspects of geriatric medicine including pioneering approaches to geriatric assessment, team models of care, uses of advanced communications technology, and the approach to the elderly patient. He has an active clinical practice spending significant time in outpatient, inpatient, and assisted-living, and nursing home settings. He also serves as a consultant to numerous scientific journals, private foundations, and the federal government. In 1995, Harmony Books, published his book, The American Geriatrics Society's Complete Guide to Aging & Health. This book, sometimes called "The Dr. Spock for Older People" is addressed to the general public and aims to empower individuals by allowing them to be better informed and to take a more active role in their own health decisions. McFarland Publishing published his new book – Geriatric Physical Diagnosis: A Guide to Observation and Assessment – in October 2007. He is recognized through peer evaluations in American Health and other surveys as one of the best doctors in America.
