Your Employee Self Service
You can manage your information at home by logging into Employee Self Service through Remote Access.
If you choose to cover your legally married spouse under our medical plans and your spouse has coverage available through his or her own employer, you will pay a spousal surcharge of $30 per paycheck (increasing to $50 per paycheck in 2017). This applies even if they do not take their employer's coverage and this is in addition to the employee/spouse or family contribution rate. The surcharge does not apply to:
- A spouse without an employer or who is self-employed
- A spouse whose employer does not offer coverage
- A spouse who has or is eligible for Medicare or TRICARE
- A spouse who works for NHRMC, NHRMC Physician Group, Pender Memorial Hospital or NHRMC Home Care
When you enroll in benefits in Your Employee Self Service (YESS), you will be asked to affirm if you are going to cover your spouse under a medical plan and if your spouse has medical coverage available through his or her employer. Should this change at any time during the year, you must report this change to the HR Benefits Team and the surcharge will be added or removed as appropriate. When you indicate whether your spouse has other available coverage during benefits enrollment in YESS, you will be required to certify that the information you are providing is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that intentional falsification or significant omissions will be grounds for discipline including, but not limited to, termination of employment from NHRMC, denial or retroactive termination of benefit coverage, and recoupment of benefits improperly paid.
