Your Vaccine Scheduling Questions

As we work to vaccinate our community, we know you may have questions about making an appointment and what to do once you have scheduled your vaccination appointment.

Making/Getting an Appointment

Can I give you my name, DOB and other information and have you schedule me an appointment?

We are unable to schedule vaccination appointments on an individual basis. For your convenience, we are offering an automatic email notification system which can alert you when appointments become available.

You can subscribe to the alert system at this link: https://nhrmc.us3.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=f8e662b96f12024ba3eac95a6&id=3637e5eefa.

NHRMC will email those who have signed up to receive notifications and you can make your appointment at nhrmc.org/coronavirus when appointments are available.

We will also email and update nhrmc.org/coronavirus when appointments have all been filled.

I have tried and tried to get an appointment. Why are there no appointments available when I try to schedule?

We are only able to offer vaccine appointments when we receive shipments of vaccines from the NCDHHS. Due to the high demand, we know those available spots are filled soon after they are opened.

We will continue to advocate to receive more vaccines and will distribute them as quickly and equitably as we can.

Signing Up for Notifications

I’ve signed up for email notifications. Does this mean I am guaranteed an appointment?

Our automatic email notification system will alert you when appointments become available.

This email means there are open appointments available, and you can go to the nhrmc.org/coronavirus to schedule your appointment. Registering for the alert system will not place you on a waiting list or automatically schedule an appointment for you.

How will I know if I signed up correctly for notifications?

If you have subscribed for the email notifications at the link on nhrmc.org/coronavirus, you will receive an email notification when appointments are available and an updated message when appointments have all been filled.

I signed up for notifications, why am I not receiving emails?

If you signed up correctly for notifications, you should receive an email when appointments are open and when they close. If you see that appointments are open, but you did not get an email, your emails may be going to your Junk or Spam folder in your email account. Please check if the emails are going there and change your email settings so our emails can be delivered to your account.

I noticed the email notifications are going to my Promotions folder in my email account. Can you fix this? What should I do?

Emails from NHRMC may be filtered by your email account and be sent to your Promotions box. While we cannot fix this setting for you, you can go into your email settings and adjust those to allow our emails to reach your primary inbox.

Can I get text notifications instead of email alerts for vaccine appointments?

Currently we do not offer a text notification option for vaccination appointment alerts. However, we are working on ways to enhance our communications for vaccination appointments.

Why am I seeing a “no appointments available message” following notification?

If you see a message that says appointments are closed, all the available appointments have been taken.

We are notifying everyone at the same time and the high demand for vaccines means that these appointments do fill up quickly.

I have already made an appointment. How do I stop getting your notification emails? You may unsubscribe from our list at any time by using the Unsubscribe link in the bottom of the email sent to you.

Day of Appointment

When I arrive for my vaccine appointment, where can I park? Can I remain in my car?

Signage has been posted at our vaccination event sites to direct you to parking areas. Once you arrive for your appointment, follow the signs for parking and other signage to direct you where to enter to check in for your appointment.

We also offer a park/vaccine option for folks who need assistance and are not able to enter the building on their own. Specific spots are numbered, and signage will prompt you to call our team and they will come out and vaccinate you in your car.

Second Dose Questions

I’ve had my first shot and was told to come back for my second dose. Where do I go and when? Do I have to make an appointment for my second dose?

Second dose appointments are automatically scheduled for you at your first vaccination appointment generally for the same time slot and location as your first shot. This information is also included on your vaccine card given to you at the time of vaccination.

I have had my first shot and was told to return on a certain date for my second, but I can’t make it on that date. How do I reschedule my appointment?

If you can’t make your scheduled appointment, we ask that you let us know as soon as possible so that we can allot the vaccine to another community member. Because it is important to receive your second dose within the recommended time to be fully protected, please reschedule your appointment as soon as possible. We offer an online form for patients rescheduling their second dose.

What do I need to bring with me to my appointment?

Although you don't need anything specific for this appointment, you should wear loose fitting clothing to make receiving the vaccine easier. You will be asked your name and appointment time.
