The inpatient acute care medical unit on 4 South provides 24 hour continuous, comprehensive nursing care for the medical patient population. The patient population on General Medicine includes adults through the geriatric life span of development who are stable.

Nursing personnel providing care to patients on Medicine include a professional staff (RNs and LPNs) who are competent to provide care within the scope of their professional practice.  Unit Clerks, Nursing Assistants and Patient Care Technicians complete the nursing staff complement of the unit.
