The New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation helps those who want to make financial contributions to the hospital direct those funds to the places where they can have the biggest impact.
NHRMC Foundation Giving
More than 800 strong, our team of volunteers includes teenagers, college students, and adults who know that giving of their time and energy to help others is wonderfully fulfilling.
Our Community Advisors share a passion for the NHRMC Mission and want to help shape the future of the care we provide.
Palliative care chaplains are specially trained and skilled. In completing my own educational work, I concentrated in pastoral skills related to loss and bereavement, family systems, and religious and cultural diversity. During and following my 3 year Master’s program, I held 3 internships (totaling 13 months), and will be completing my 4th CPE Unit in August, which equals 400 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education and 1200 hours of direct pastoral/spiritual care of patients, families, and staff. To engage in the formal certification process requires an additional 18-24 months of intensive reflection and writing in preparation to prove and defend the 29 competencies.
