NHRMC Adds Star Ratings to all Health and Diagnostics Location Pages

From choosing a place to grab brunch to researching which mechanic to hire, we have all come to rely on online reviews to make everyday decisions. We read them to hear about experiences from our neighbors so we can make informed choices.

New Hanover Regional Medical Center recognizes how important this resource is to our patients and now include star ratings on our website for all our Health and Diagnostics locations.

Services offered at NHRMC Health & Diagnostics include a wide range of services including MRI, CT scans, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, X-rays, mammography, and more. To better serve our patients, we offer 24/7 appointments for ultrasound and CT scans at the ED-North and NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital locations.

“Research across many industries has shown that consumers want valid and relevant patient experience reviews.  Star ratings with transparent reviews are no longer just for restaurants and hotels.  In our current internet culture consumers of healthcare services expect to have the same access to reviews with their medical imaging as they do for other industries,” said NHRMC’s Director of Radiology Joshua Tucker.

The star ratings we display are generated by our patients, based on their experiences at these facilities. Reviews and ratings are handled by an organization called Press Ganey and are not altered beyond ensuring that protected health information (PHI as defined by HIPAA) is removed.

Our goal is to allow our patients the opportunity to research these locations and read reviews from real patients who have been seen at these facilities.

NHRMC Vice President for Clinical Services, Laurie Whalin, notes that reading reviews can also help patients select a location that works for their needs.

“Each site will have certain nuances that patients may prefer and this helps them make that selection on their terms,” said Whalin.   

Tucker also had this to say about the new star ratings implementation, “At NHRMC, we are proud of our quality and our ability to provide an excellent patient experience.  We see our new star ratings as a way of transparently providing consumers with information they can use to make the best decision for their medical imaging needs.”

The RN was rude towards my kids for simply being there.My kids were well behaved the entire time i was there,had 2 nurse compliment on how well they were behaving. Doctor did not take time to look at my chart, and went to yanking and pulling on my injured knee before looking at xrays that had been taken. Turns out i have a torn miniscus. Everyone's rude, no one took time to talk or explain when i asked questions. Yall used to be a great facility.
I just had my knee x-rayed at your Brunswick Forest facility and I wanted to compliment your staff for their pleasant demeanor, from my initial contact with Christine who checked me in quickly to the technician, Leann, who was so friendly and explained everything she was going to do and seemed to genuinely care about me. I was in an out in about 15 minutes. What a wonderful staff you have. Two thumbs up !!!
