With Christmas just eight days away, does anyone else find themselves getting caught up in the rush of online shopping, perfect meal planning and feeling a little bit more wound up than normal? Right now, I invite you all to take the pressure off, enjoy a luxurious deep breath and moment of gratitude for the many blessings we have. Something that helps me when I am in a busier season of life is setting small and attainable goals to take better care of myself and feel more at peace. Here are 8 strategies to help combat stress and regain your calm. Consider trying one each day until Christmas:

  1. Drink water first thing in the morning
  2. Take a one-day break from social media
  3. Stretch for 5 minutes before bed
  4. Take a nap
  5. Drink a smoothie full of fruits and veggies
  6. De-clutter a space or room
  7. Say “no” to something or someone
  8. Keep a list of things you’re thankful for to maintain a grateful perspective when stress hits

We encourage you not to spend the rest of the holiday season stressing about what you ate or your weight loss goals. Relax, enjoy yourself, practice portion control, drink more water, eat more veggies, get good sleep and above all else, keep it simple!
