Allison Matthews, reference and education librarian for the SEAHEC Health Sciences Library, was recently promoted to the level of “Distinguished Member” of the Medical Library Association’s Academy of Health Information Professionals.

The Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) is the peer-reviewed, accomplishment/portfolio-based certification and career development program for health information professionals.

Academy membership indicates that your peers have certified that you have met a standard of professional education, experience and accomplishment and demonstrates that you are committed to career development.

Reaching the level of Distinguished – the highest AHIP rank – requires 10 or more years of professional work experience and a minimum of 120 points of professional accomplishments in the last five years.
