Platinum Performance Logo New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) has received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain – MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award, making it one of 212 hospitals across the country to be recognized for its elevated standard of care for heart attack patients.

“Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, the heart center was able to improve its standard of care,” said Dr. Frederick Meine, an interventional cardiologist. The platinum designation is a two-level step up from the silver award the heart center received last year.

The Chest Pain – MI Registry establishes a national standard for understanding and improving the quality and outcomes of care for high-risk heart attack patients. To receive the Platinum Performance Achievement Award, hospitals must demonstrate achievement in the registry for two consecutive years and perform at the highest level for specific performance measures. Hospitals must also engage in a process to continually improve the quality of care heart attack patients receive.

“It is such an honor for our team to be recognized for our commitment to high-quality care for our patients,” Meine said. “We are thrilled that our work has set us apart as a leader in the field.”

NHRMC offers the largest team of board-certified cardiologists in southeastern North Carolina, providing comprehensive, compassionate cardiac care. Learn more about the NHRMC Heart Center at www.nhrmc.org/heart.
