The 2020 Medicare Annual Enrollment Period ended on Monday, December 7. But there are several other times you can sign up for a New Hanover Health Advantage Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug plan.
Initial Enrollment Period
If you are eligible for Medicare when you turn 65, you can sign up for Medicare or a Medicare Advantage plan during the 7-month period around your birthday.
Special Enrollment Period
Special Enrollment Periods may be activated by certain life events, such as moving outside of your current plan’s service area, or moving into or out of an institution such as a skilled nursing facility or long-term care facility.
Open Enrollment Period
The Open Enrollment Period runs from January 1 through March 31 each year. During this period, if you are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan, you have the option to switch to another Medicare Advantage plan, return to Original Medicare, or join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan.
Annual Enrollment Period 2021
Annual Enrollment Period 2021 begins on October 15, 2021 and will run through December 7, 2021. If none of the above enrollment periods applies to you, you may be eligible to enroll in a New Hanover Health Advantage Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug plan during AEP 2021, for coverage starting on January 1, 2022.
