On Friday, Oct. 16, NHRMC Chief Physician Executive Dr. Philip Brown was sworn in as president of the North Carolina Medical Society. The society represents more than 10,000 providers and is dedicated to uniting, serving, and representing physicians and their health care teams to enhance the health of North Carolinians.

The NC Medical Society streamed the inauguration ceremony live on their Facebook page.

During his formal inauguration Friday, Dr. Philip Brown addressed racial injustice in our society and disparities in healthcare naming it as a top priority to leave the earth and field better than he found it. Dr. Brown was featured in a segment on WECT highlighting his new role.

As you might expect from Dr. Brown, he immediately took to Twitter, outlining the focus for his term and reflecting on his first days as NCMS President.

Please join us in congratulating to Dr. Brown for his election to this statewide medical leadership role.
