The 2020 Wilmington Walk to Defeat ALS is just one month away and will be held Saturday, September 12th! This year’s walk will be virtual, so you can raise awareness by walking wherever you would like, for whatever distance you prefer.
The NHRMC Physician Group-Neurology team will join the NHRMC team in this year's walk. You are encouraged to join the NHRMC team, which has participated in the walk since 2009. You can walk with some NHRMC teammates, with family, friends, pets, or take a walk on your own. Be sure to use #NHRMCWalksforALS to share your walk photos!

This year, NHRMC and NHRMC Physician Group-Neurology are doing more than ever to help those with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. The Neurology group initiated a monthly ALS Clinic, which provides critical clinical services to individuals affected with ALS in our region. During one visit, a participant can see the neurologist, nurse, social worker, dietitian, respiratory therapist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, orthotist, and equipment vendor, and receive information about the ALS Association. The clinic has temporarily been interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. For more information, please visit https://www.nhrmc.org/services/neuroscience/als-clinic.
