A message from Dr. Todd Kornegay, Employee Health Medical Director
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic NHRMC has continued to monitor the spread within our region, state and country. Measures were quickly taken to ensure all healthcare workers’ safety by implementing universal masking and respirator fit testing for those that have higher exposure risks during patient care. With the recent spike in the number of COVID-19 positive cases in our area and the higher potential for community exposure, guidelines were created for NHRMC Employee Health to use regarding exposure, testing and return to work. The latest updated information from the CDC and NC DHHS was used along with review by Dr. Paul Kamitsuka, Hospital Epidemiologist. As the Employee Health Medical Director, I want you to be aware of those guidelines and measures to continually ensure the safest environment possible for you.
