Look to the sky on Saturday morning, May 16. A total of 12 civilian aircraft will be flying over hospitals across the region to honor Health Care Heroes. The planes will fly over the NHRMC Main Campus at about 10:00 a.m.
These planes will be flying much slower than the military planes that have done flyovers to-date and serve as a way for these private pilots (some of whom are NHRMC physicians) to salute the hard work that all at NHRMC are doing for the COVID-19 Response during Hospital Week.
Once these aircraft leave NHRMC airspace, they will travel over Dosher Memorial Hospital, Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, Columbus Regional Hospital, and Bladen County Hospital before arriving at Pender Memorial Hospital at approximately 11:13 a.m.
The planes will drop a wingtip to “salute” each hospital that they fly over. The event was organized by the Civil Air Patrol.
Please observe social distancing as you view the flyover.
