NHRMC To Close Non-Emergency Entrances During Storm

September 04, 2019

To help protect the safety of patients and visitors during Hurricane Dorian, New Hanover Regional Medical Center will close all non-emergency entrances at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019. The only exception will be for women in labor and their partners, who can go directly to the entrance of the NHRMC Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital at any time.

Visitors will be asked to leave prior to 8 p.m. Wednesday and allowed to return after the storm has passed.

Limited situations in which a family member could stay include those in which a patient is in critical, hospice or palliative care, if part of the clinical care plan or if they’re the parent of a hospitalized newborn or young child. Those with questions or concerns should talk with a member of the NHRMC staff or their physician.

Updates on when visitation restrictions will be lifted will be posted on the hospital’s website, www.nhrmc.org.

All NHRMC Emergency Departments will remain open through the storm, including those at NHRMC’s 17th Street Campus, Orthopedic Hospital, Pender Memorial Hospital and NHRMC Emergency Department - North.
