Mary Shilling, a nurse since 1991, is retiring on April 6. Mary has worked for NHRMC for the past 23 years in the Surgical Trauma Neuro ICU, where she is a mentor, preceptor, charge nurse as well as being a clinical coordinator.

Mary has held a position on the ethics committee for a number of years, supporting patients' rights and decisions. She is full of smiles and brings laughter to every shift she works. Her patients often remark about her warm heart and amazing compassion, as she frequently goes above and beyond to make sure they are comfortable.

Outside of work, Mary has a passion for bingo, the beach and all things flamingo. Mary is an extremely proud grandmother to a beautiful little girl with a second grandchild on the way and is looking forward to spending a lot of time with both of them and her husband of 25 years in the near future.
