The NHRMC Community Garden is currently yielding lots of yummy winter veggies including cabbage, lettuce, spinach, and hearty herbs like cilantro and parsley. The brussels sprouts and carrots need a couple of more weeks but they’ll be ready soon, too! We’re excited to start thinking about the upcoming spring season that is just around the corner, and could use your help in keeping our garden beautiful and producing healthy food for our employees and community.
If you’re interested in getting involved, please join an onsite volunteer garden orientation. Our first orientations will be Thursday February 28th and Thursday March 28th between 3-5 pm. We will offer more as the season progresses. Stop by to learn about the everyday needs of the garden such as planting, weeding and harvesting/distributing the produce. During this time you can stay to work with us (this week we will be planting 4 new beds) or just come and get oriented on the garden.
The NHRMC Community Garden is located behind Cape Fear Heart Center at 1415 Physicians Drive.
