NHRMC Physician Group – Neurology is pleased to welcome Katie Byrd, DNP, AGPCNP-BC; Danielle Fryar, MSN, FNP-C; and Jama L. Hare, PA–C, MPAS. The practice offers diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions and movement disorders. Our providers care for patients admitted to the hospital as well as those needing outpatient follow-up care in our practice.
Katie received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.
Since 2013, she has worked at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in the Stroke and Progressive Care Unit as a registered nurse. She has also completed over 800 clinical hours as a nurse practitioner student at other NHRMC Physician Group practice locations including Cape Fear Heart Associates, NHRMC Urgent Care and Wrightsville Beach Family Medicine.
Danielle received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Maine at Fort Kent. She earned her Master of Science in nursing – family nurse practitioner from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
For six years, Danielle worked at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in the Stroke and Progressive Care Unit as a registered nurse. Most recently, she worked at Coastal Horizons Center in Wilmington as a family nurse practitioner. There, she provided primary care services to adolescent and adult patients, many in underserved and uninsured populations.
Jama received her Bachelor of Science in Health Science with a Physician Assistant Major from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE.
She has extensive experience as a nurse practitioner at various hospitals throughout the country. She has also practiced in multiple trauma centers in Washington D.C.; Denver, Colorado; and at Chesapeake Emergency Physicians in Largo, MD. Most recently, she worked at US Acute Care Solutions in Lakewood, Colorado, in observation medicine. Her duties included care of patients with acute and chronic illnesses, admissions, discharges, transfers and more.
