On Friday, December 14, a group of New Hanover Regional Medical Center employees, a convoy of 10 EMS vehicles, and Santa gathered outside the NHRMC Rehabilitation Hospital to load up gifts that will make Christmas very special for many families in our community through the Adopt-A-Family program.
With the help and generosity of NHRMC employees, more than eighty local families will receive bikes, clothing, games, toys, food, and other items that will make their holiday bright.
This year, NHRMC was also able to make Christmas special for more than twenty families within NHRMC who were affected by Hurricane Florence.
The EMS, VitaLink and SMAT vehicles will transport the hundreds of presents and more than 50 bikes to the following agencies: Family Promise/Wilmington Interfaith Hospitality Network, Salvation Army, Domestic Violence Shelter and DREAMS.
NHRMC would like to thank each staff member who donated items and would like to give a special thank you to volunteers for helping to load and transport the gifts.
We are so proud to help make Christmas dreams come true for so many local families this year.
